Jamb and a Girl

                Jamb and a Maiden

There's a post that I saw on Facebook in the Campus Update, and a friend of mine timelines. The post is portraying a cretin maiden who has more than 300k+ followers on Tiktok, but couldn't procure at least 150 scores in Jamb.

I concur within my knowledge purview that social media, particularly Tiktok, is deviating students from rendering their academic activities accordingly. Though I have an account on Tiktok, it takes me ages to log-in to it.

Actually, I don't know the damsel I'm referring to but via this platform (Facebook) I heard about her.

I read an article written by one of the reverend people that I admire on this platform, i.e Dr. Muhsin Ibrahim, who I say indeed he's a Muhsin as driven from both Arabic language and Islamic theology perception. In his article he eulogized social media, whereas, in another way he castigated utilizing social media by students, especially women, as a reason that led to the failure of the number of students in the recently concluded Jamb that they had partaken in. In addition, he even challenged people in the media to mention the name of a female student who obtained 300+ scores, who has an active media account.

Surprisingly, at this juncture, I came across a piece of writing by one of the reverend people that both Dr. and I admire, i.e Prof. Abdullah Uba Adamu, who castigated the outrage of folks on media. He mentioned that in his generation exam failure was blamed on someone else.

Eventually, I'm writing this because I had an experience on Jamb, owing to the fact that I had partaken in Jamb, in previous year, and in this year. Alhamdulillah, in both of the years I procured the scores that deserve to be applauded. All of my friends that we did diploma together, when we partook in the exam this year, though, they got very good scores, nobody got even the scores that I procured last year, let alone this year. In addition, I'm writing this to express that, indeed social media has a negative impact on my friends and I, had it not, I believe that we might score more than what we scored. I concede, to the extent of my knowledge, that the cretin girl I'm writing about has no elocution, but she is just wittering on the platform that she is known on.
